Policies for the Toddler Room:

  1. All Children should arrive no later than 8:30 as to give your child enough time for free play and interact with their friends. This will help your child transition and help them settle in before we start our activities for the day. Our snack time is 9:15 a.m. - -9:30 a.m. If your child has not arrived before snack time is over they will not receive snack as it is unfair to the other children to hold up the day. Please call and let us know if you are going to be late or going to be out for the day. If your child comes in with breakfast you must arrive before 8:00 a.m. in the morning. It is not fair to hold the other children up for the day.
  2. In the toddler room we use daily sheets to help you understand how your child’s day was and what is consists of. We will write on your child’s daily sheet when your child needs something ex. wipes, diapers, clothes, sun block, bug spray etc… These things will also be noted on the white board in the parent’s corner as well. We will give you as much notice as possible but please bring in items needed A.S.A.P. The Barnyard Monthly News Letter and most correspondence will be eMailed to you. Make sure we have your eMail address.
  3. We have a parent’s corner in our room. In this corner your child has there own mail slot for items that need to be taken home. Please check them daily. Our monthly calendar will be placed in your child’s mail slot, notices, etc… We also have a parent box for any questions, comments or issues you may have but do not feel comfortable to discuss freely.
  4. Please do not send your child to school with toys from home as this tends to be a distraction in the classroom. A stuffed animal for your child to sleep with during rest time is allowed as long as it does not become a distraction at rest time.
  5. We will provide a red Barnyard Nap Time bag which should be the only bag they bring in along with their lunch bag. Everything your child will use at rest time should fit into the red bag ie. Sheet, blanket etc... If all items do not fit in this bag please do not bring them to school. It will be sent home on the last day your child is in school for the items to be washed.
  6. If your child is potty training please make sure you send in 3 full sets of clothes daily until they are fully potty trained. We will send home clothes daily with dirty and clean clearly marked for you to clean and re-stock.
  7. Please do no pack any candy in your child’s lunch box. Children are expected to eat their healthy food before any junk food. Do not pack anything that needs to be heated up or cut up. (Have apples, oranges, grapes or any thing else you want cut up, done ahead of time.
